A RESIDENTIAL HOSTEL IN LISBON

The hostel intends to rebuild the character of the neighbourhood around the site and the botanical garden. The architecture intends to frame activities, interactions and intimacy between travellers. The design is insular, looking into courtyards and is sunk below the ground.

The project is a response to a brief for confronting people’s self-cognition in a dynamic and interactive sensation exchange. It gives priority to the way in which people respond to each other in a space, and attempts to explore this through an architectural proposal.
